Sparkle In The Cold

There’s a sparkle in the cold
Your name pops out to surprise me
To hug and warm me
Up and about
To soothe me.

I play with your voice
The echoes inside
They nudge me and say
Don’t weep, old soul
You’ll see me one day.

I go back outside
Into the violent void
Where silence is emptiness
And I carry you in me
Like a lamb in the night.

You cling tighter to me
And so I know
I will see you again
One bright day
Somewhere in air.
